Moog Sirin
The Moog Minitaur Soprano
See here for the board of the Minitaur
The Sirin was released in 2019 after the Minitaur (2012). I got the same firmware features and the same Win/Mac editor. And when opening it, you will find it is even using the Minitaur PCB Rev. B board. sound wise they don't differ that much. Some people hear a little different square wave character, but you find two trimmers to set the pulse width inside. Using these trimmers, the two sound very much like clones.
But they do differ on the note range. The Sirin is able to play lead line note ranges, while the Minitaur is missing this range. But the Minitaur is able to play a little bit more lower notes than the Sirin.
| Synth | Lowest Note Name / MIDI # | Highest Note Name / MIDI # | Note Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minitaur | C-1 / #0 | C5 / #72 | 73 |
| Sirin | E0 / #16 | D8 / #110 | 95 |
