Der WaveSlave ist eine achtstimmiges, 19", 1 HE Stimmenerweiterung für den Waldorf MicroWave I. Es hat ausser einem Lautstärke Poti, einem Anschalter und zwei LEDs keine weiteren Bedienelemente. Durch eine besondere Einschaltprozedur wird er an einen MicroWave I per Midi verbunden und spielt dann die Stimmen 9-16. Durch einen weiteren WaveSlave konnte man die Stimmenanzahl auf 24 erweitern. Der WaveSlave wurde direkt mit dem Erscheinen des MicroWave I OS 2.0 eingestellt, da er einige der neuen OS 2.0 Fetures nicht mehr spielen konnte. Waldorf bot deshalb ein vergünstigtes Upgrade des WaveSlave auf einen vollen MicroWave I OS 2.0 für WaveSlave-Besitzer an. Der Preis war etwa 50% des normalen MW I V 2.0 und man mußte seinen WaveSlave einsenden. Deshalb sieht man den Wellensklaven (Zitat aus der nicht unwitzigen Anleitung) heute kaum noch.

The Waveslave is a 19" single unit height eight voice expension for the Waldorf MicroWave I. There is only a Volume knob, a power switch and two LEDs. When powering up the MicroWave and the Waveslave, you have to select the Link mode on the MicroWave to make the WaveSlave listen to its master. it will than play the voices 9-16. By using another WaveSlave you could reach 24 voices. When the MicroWave I OS 2.0 hit the world, the Waveslave was discontiued due to the fact it couldn't reproduce some of the new OS 2.0 features. Waldorf made a special update path to owners of the WaveSlave. You got a full MicroWave I OS 2.0 by paying 50% of the normal MW I V 2.0 price. Ofcause, you had to send them your WaveSlave too.
