der MonoWave ist ein Projekt von Paul Maddox aus England. Als PPG Fan, Techniker und Musiker vereinte er in diesem Gerät jedes dieser Gebiete gleichsam zu einem gelungenen Synthesizer.
Die Fakten:
- 2 HE 19" Rackgerät im sehr stabilen verzinktem Blechgehäuse
- 2 digitale Oszillatoren mit 256 Wellenformen. Davon 127 vom PPG wave
- Jeder Oszillator hat einen eigenen Suboszillator
- Dank der digitalen Oszillatoren ist eine fein dosierbare Verstimmung ebenso sauber zu realisieren und zu reproduzieren wie eine phasenstarre Nullverstimmung.
- Die Auflösung der Oszillatoren läßt sich pro Oszillator einzeln auch für LoFi Effekte minimieren. Dann klingt es sehr nach PPG Aliasing

Analoger Transistor Dekaden Filter (= Moog Filter).
Der original fette und auf Wunsch verzerrte und leicht komprimierende Moog-Klang.
Natürlich selbstoszillierend. - Knackige Envelopes
- Midi gesteuertes Ändern (CC) der Wellenformen eines jeden Oszillators
- LFO schaltbar auf jeden der beiden Oszillatoren einzeln und den Filter
- LFO Geschwindigkeit ist per Midi Controller #48 fernsteuerbar
- Die Anschlagsgeschwindigkeit kann per seperate Knöpfe auf den Filter und die Lautstärke gesendet werden

eingebauter Arpeggiator mit mehreren Modi. So auch eine Oktavierung jeder einzelnen Note. Also nicht wie sonst nach einem Durchlauf.
Gedrückt sind die Noten c, e, und g:
Mode B: c, e, g, c+1, e+1, g+1
Mode C: c, c+1, e, e+1, g, g+1 - Weil es keinen Klangspeicher gibt, sieht man immer die Einstellungen die man auch hört. Die globalen Daten (Midi Kanal, angewählte Wellenformen, ARP Einstellungen und Retrigger Mode) werden jedoch gespeichert.

Ein Klangbeispiel gibt es hier (1,2 MB)Alles wurde mit vier Noten getriggert. Der erste MonoWave spielt auf den 16tel Note das Arpeggio aus den Noten C, G darunter, As einen Halbton höher und dann noch ein C eine Oktave unter dem ersten. Der zweite MonoWave spielt die selben Noten, allerdings als ganze Noten.
Später hört man genau diese Töne auch vom Waldorf Q als Pad gespielt. Der danach einsetzende Rhythmus kommt vom Waldorf RackAttack. Alles wurde live gespielt und mit Midi Clock syncronisiert.
Keine externen Effekte oder EQ.

- 2 U 19" rack unit in a strong zinced metal housing
- 2 Digital oscillators containing 256 waveshapes. 127 originated from the PPG waves
- every oscillator has its suboscillator
- Thanks to the digital oscillators you are able to adjsut detunnings from zero (no phase locked) to out off tune easy. And you are able to reproduce this with ease.
- The digital resolution of each oscillators may turned to a LoFi mode. It sounds very much like PPG aliasing

Analogue lowpass ladder filter (= Moog filter)
The original phat Moog sound. Moog filter distortion a slight compression and selfoscillating included. - crisp envelopes
- Midi (CC) conrolled change of the oscillators waveshapes.
- LFO may modulate the oscillators (seperately chosen) or the filter.
- LFO speed remote controlled by sending Midi controller #48
- velocity may be routed to the filter cutoff and the volume by a dedicated knob for each of them

built in arpeggiator with different modes. For example a mode including a ovtaving of each note. Not after each whole sequence.
Press the notes c, e, and g:
mode B:c, e, g, c+1, e+1, g+1
mode C: c, c+1, e, e+1, g, g+1 - You will always see what you will hear due to the fact it has no patch storage. But the global data (Midi channel, selected waveshapes, ARP settings and retrigger mode) will be stored.

There is a sound example here (1.2 MB)Only 4 (four) notes used. The first MonoWave plays a 16th note arpeggio of the notes C, G below, A flat a half step above and another C one octave below the first. The second MonoWave plays the same notes as whole notes.
Later you will hear those notes played as a Waldorf Q pad. And then the Waldorf RackAttack plays a rhythm. Everything was played live and syced to midi clock
